Church Details
Come along and visit our church. It will not only take you back in time nearly 600 years, but one where the interior is enhanced by sympathetic 21st century lighting, which enables the visitor to explore and enjoy the wall paintings and stained glass windows, especially those in the chancel and around the altar. Buslingthorpe - St Michael
Church Details
The church is one of the few remaining buildings on a deserted mediaeval village site and, apart from the tower, was rebuilt in 1835 in brick. Unassuming outside it hides treasures within: two 14th century monuments to the de Buslingthorpe family, one an effigy of a knight in armour on a tomb chest showing clearly the clothes worn in battle at that time. The church is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust.

Cabourne - St Nicholas

Caistor - Methodist Church
Church Details
Our church is a large Victorian grade 2 listed building built in 1842, the listing includes the pews, decorative ceiling rose and organ with pump handle. Recent interior alterations have been sympathetic to the character of the building. Coffee, tea and biscuits from 10am to 11.30am, Christian Aid lunch available 11.30am to 1pm.

Caistor - St Peter & St Paul
Church Details
There has been a church here since Saxon times, parts are Saxon, Norman, early English and Perpendicular. All the windows, whilst Victorian or later, are good examples of stained glass. A leaflet giving full details of things to see is available for visitors.

Cherry Willingham - St Peter & St Paul
Church Details
St Peter and St Paul is a wonderful example of Georgian architecture with a beautiful reredos behind the altar. The modern octagonal lantern was designed by Louis Osman who also designed the coronet for The Prince of Wales.

Claxby - St Mary
Church Details
Peacefully situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The chancel has two 13th century corbel heads and an astonishingly elaborate 16th century monument. Victorian additions include brasses, stained glass and an unusual small organ, fully restored.

Clixby - All Hallows
Church Details
The chancel of this early 13th century church was ruinous until 1889 when it was gently restored and a West porch added. It now seems like a roadside shrine. In the floor is a 14th century slab with an incised cross and chalice and the remains of a Lombardic inscription to a priest. Latin inscriptions in praise of the Virgin adorn the wooden ceiling. A fine font and pews have been rescued from other redundant churches. The church is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust.

Church Details
Re-built 1890 using some original stone. Tower:- base 13th century, middle 16th century, overlap wooden spire 1890. Stained glass includes a splendid Victorian window. Four bells, one pre- reformation. Hand forged outer porch gates, stained glass window, plaque, photographs etc. commemorate the Polish Airforce who were at RAF/PAF Faldingworth.

This little brick church stands alone in its clump of trees, approached across a field which covers the site of an ancient village and where the great house of the Granthams stands. Great Limber - St Peter
Church Details
The church of St Peter at Great Limber was "much restored" by Butterfield. It contains a monument of 1850 to William Richardson. In the north aisle is a window by Charles Eamer Kempe 1890. The East window is by Wailes to a design by Butterfield and two chancel windows probably the same.

Greetwell - All Saints
Church Details
This is a truly hidden gem. A Saxon church surrounded by green pastures overlooking the River Witham. Greetwell church and a priest were recorded in the Doomsday Survey of 1085. The tranquil house of prayer now has no village but a lively and friendly congregation. Follow road from Wickes roundabout to Cherry Willingham, cross over railway bridge and then turn right over cattle grid, 200 yards down lane. (LN3 4NQ).

The unremarkable exterior of this small medieval church does not prepare visitors for the breathtaking surprise within. Behind the altar, occupying the chancel and an adjacent chapel, are three wonderful late 16th and early 17th century monuments to the St Paul family, fascinating for their sheer opulence and completely different styles. The most imposing tomb, to Sir Thomas St Paul who died in 1582, is lavish and highly coloured. The church is cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust.
